The makers of Cheffam Pickled Mango share their recipe and their humble beginnings to inspire other entrepreneurs.

Christian George Rosario and his wife Mae used to work abroad for 5 years before deciding to return to the Philippines and venture into business. Mae shared that they’re very hands-on and did they’re best to make their business successful. At the start, they had to do everything to manage their business.

“Kami gagawa, kami nagpre-prepare, pati nagde-deliver, kami mismo. Sobrang nakakapagod yun kasi kulang kami sa tao, ”Mae shared on Pera Paraan.

Since then, the couple has come a long way. Their pickled mango business is now earning as much as P30,000 to P50,000 a week. They have also invested in a lot of things for their family and business.

According to Mae, the best advice she could give to aspiring entrepreneurs is to be courageous and take the risk of venturing into business. She added that it is best to start small and let the business grow through hardwork. It’s also beneficial to seek advice and tips from mentors or successful entrepreneurs.

“Huwag silang matakot mag-negosyo. Pero pag-isipan muna nila kung anong negosyo nila. Pwede kang magsimula sa maliit tapos paunti-unti. And you seek advice in my taong may negosyo na, ”Mae explained.

How To Make Cheffam Pickled Mango In A Jar

First, wash the mangoes thoroughly. Peel the skin and wash the mangoes again. Then, slice the mangoes. As much as possible, cut the mangoes into uniform sizes. In a bowl, mix salt with the mangoes. The salt helps keep the crunchiness of the mangoes. This is also the first step in fermenting the mangoes.

Fermentation helps preserve food, so it’ll last longer. This pickled mango recipe needs 3 days to ferment. Once done with the fermentation process, place the mangoes in a jar. Add the special syrup before sealing the jar. If you want it spicy, you can add spicy chili flakes.
